Process & Technical Support

Many of the challenges associated with architectural glass arise well before fabrication begins. Harbor Glassworks provides early-phase technical support to help project teams resolve glass systems with clarity—aligning design intent, performance, budget, and constructability from the outset.

Our role is collaborative and systems-focused. We work alongside architects, designers, builders, and clients to evaluate feasibility, anticipate constraints, and reduce downstream revisions prior to fabrication and installation.

Project Approach

1. Pre-Design Assist

Early coordination during planning and design phases to evaluate feasibility and clarify scope before details are finalized.

We support project teams by reviewing proposed glass conditions, identifying system constraints, and offering informed input that helps translate design intent into buildable solutions.

Includes:

  • Preliminary review of proposed glass systems and assemblies

  • Input on system selection, hardware, and performance considerations

  • Early budget alignment and scope clarification

  • Coordination with architects and designers to support design intent

2. Pre-Construction Coordination

Focused technical support as projects transition from design into fabrication.

At this stage, we help ensure glass scopes are fully resolved—minimizing ambiguity and reducing the likelihood of revisions once fabrication is underway.

Includes:

  • Review of dimensions and details for constructability

  • Tolerance, sequencing, and access considerations

  • Hardware and finish feasibility coordination

  • Early identification of risks affecting cost or schedule

3. Fabrication-Ready Alignment

Entering fabrication with clarity to support efficient execution and precise installation.

Our goal is to move into shop drawings and fabrication with aligned expectations—reducing RFIs, delays, and on-site adjustments.

Includes:

  • Clear scope definition prior to shop drawings

  • Streamlined coordination between design, fabrication, and installation

  • Reduced downstream changes and field modifications
